New York, NY
On April 28, 2010, the NYC based traveling art house, FerroVitreous Arts invites artists, fashionistas, musicians & connoisseurs, friends and members of the press to the risqué reprisal of their wildly acclaimed “Psychology Of Eroticism” group art demonstration (this time, joining forces with the provocative fantasyland of fashion label, Lolli Popitt, who co‐produce the event).
Illuminating the treatment of sexual iconography‐ quite appropriately, the show will take place at the swanky chic venue, Amalia, 204 West 55th Street from 8‐11pm.
FerroVitreous will test their limits by cross‐collaborating with several other facets of the creative realm. In addition to displaying fine arts of a select group of 10 emerging painters, sculptors & photographers, with the help of renowned event producer, Steve Leff of LCC Productions, they will also break down the standard gallery walls in order to create an all out art expo! Some of the evening’s eye‐candy will include, Lolli Popitt, headlining the soiree with a live installation of steamy fashion models (hair & makeup design by Abby Ballin & Dana James), a nude body painting exhibit, a performance by Genius Entertainment Recording Artist, Lady Life, a performance by the new band, IV, distinguished photographer, Robin Souma behind the lens & titillating Tarot readings by Seth Michael May. Featuring Edward III NY Absinthe, SoNu Water, cupcakes, a hand carved ice luge provocateur by sculptors Empire Ice, there are even more enticements to come!
Guests will be forced to confront their inner voyeur & decide whether to keep their eyes wide OPEN or wide shut!

February 12th-14th
FerroVitreous Arts presents The Psychology of Eroticism, a group show illuminating the perception, exhibition, and treatment of sexual iconography. Drawing references from traditional elements of pornography to contemporary gender politics, The Psychology of Eroticism hopes to contextualize our experience of sexual exhibition through exploitation and confrontation. Each artist responds independently and in their own medium, from classic acrylic on canvas to video installation to hand-carved ice sculpture. Intended to engage the viewer, the show breaks free from the gallery walls to enter into our dimension of personal space.
Artists: Thomas Bell, Brandon Friend, Abbey Golden, Christina Justiz, Laura Meyers, Ivana Salander, Jeff Schneider & Henry Wallace

Querying the Void suggests both a formulaic process of creative exploration and a technical application of interpretation. Coming of age in an otherwise stagnant fiscal flow, Generation Y, also known as the Echo Boomers, is reluctantly entering a climate of turbulent “backfiring” that is limiting opportunity and redefining our understanding of Value. What has emerged is the tangible art movement of a generation at a time when old rules are once again being opened to questioning. This show, featuring artists all born in the last quarter-century exemplifies the potential freedom and frustration of this vantage point.
Each artist responds in their own medium, showcasing works in photography, spray paint, and enamel. Presented on canvas, poster board and found wooden objects, the works reflect not only an answer to a question but presents a question to an otherwise obvious answer. With expectation comes limitation, but in the void lies the limitless freedom of possibility.

FerroVitreous Arts co-founded by Christina Justiz and Allyson Parker is a roaming art house dedicated to the collective movement of creative exhibition. For our latest show The Salon, we’ve teamed up with creative consultant Amanda Ackerman, and assembled a collaborative of young artists that work in a variety of mediums from photography, enamels, acrylics, and a privately commissioned permanent mural installation by artist Abbey Golden. Displaying the works in the traditional French Salon style opens the creative dialogue between artist and viewer, allowing the work to compete for its visual reception.
All of the art works displayed are available for sale.
